Even though your exams may be over by now, I want to add my mustard to your post.

I suffer(ed) from exactly the same problems - lack of motivation when deed was in need and not the slightest clue of what to do in the future. I always loved messing around with the computer as well but I had never wanted to do something really useful as a job with it. I rather planned to become a lawyer to earn enough to spend on my hobbies. I realised that becoming a lawyer is one of the most boring things you could choose to do, so I postponed the future-decision.
At some point in the past, I wanted to be able to find out, what makes computers do such awesome stuff and therefore I started programming. I didn't really want to start, but I forced myself at the beginning (as I do it when I have to study for some school subject) and after some years, breaks, new languages I decided to make this my future. I can't call my skills marvellous, but it's more than enough to apply for FH Hagenberg (maybe you know it, it's a technology school with extremely good reputation in the Mühlviertel), judging from the skills of people I know there.
Even now I doubt the correctness of my decision from time to time, because you never know if you could come to hate a former hobby if it has become the day job, but I stick with it - maybe solely because I have no clue what to do otherwise (except those job wishes that come from the realm of fantasy, like revolutionary, assassin, warlock, artist, writer...).
I can't say that I know you (although it may be interesting because it's not easy to find people with such rather uncommon interests), but maybe you should think of it.

Regarding the lack of motivation to study, I recently discovered a trick that worked for me. In the specific case I had to be prepared for a mathematics test while being tempted to watch Death Note. So, as some kind of compromise, I decided to watch one episode for each large problem (or several small problems) I solved. With some subjects it is possible to gain interest after you started once. If that is the case (or you have a strong will to torture yourself) you can increase the number of problems to solve prior to watching something.

Concerning the problems with social interaction in face-to-face situations I haven't found a solution for myself yet. Attempts of talking to others have resulted in the situation, that all people around are afraid of me for, in my opinion, no particular reason. Someone told me, I was too psycho, I should behave more naturally. I did so, although it led to something other than he may have meant. To complete school I'm still surrounded by people every day, but I keep distance whenever possible, don't talk to anyone and even at home I refuse unnecessary interaction with siblings and parents. Although this paragraph probably doesn't interest anyone, I do it - too much time -.- I think, being a bit nerdy is nothing bad, or maybe one of the best things that could happen to you. Such people have strong interests and mostly know what to do with their time, contrary to the big part of people. Therefore I see Nerd/Otaku/Geek/Hikikomori as something great.

This super-large comment (I'm sorry, by nature I'm unable to make it short) can't end without some advertising, I'm part of a small geek group, called AustrianGeekForce, which exists in #austriangeekforce on irc.freenode.net. Although many people there like to idle around, there are active and interesting beings. They could also be a big help if you decide to start programming. mrc_001 referred you there. Just in case you're interested.

Hopefully, this helped you. Greetings from ota-kun.

thx to both of you

@Blowfish: I think I'm quiet the same Study Type.
I think such analyses would be helpful, have to find some thing like that in Austria. Btw: Our system is the worst: I had to decide what I would like to to in the future when I was 14 years old!

@Realta Nua: Yeah we have a unused room with a big desk and I'm going there after this comment.

Lets hope that your personal angel Misaki-chan rings at your door^^

Now lets get serious:

I dont know what kind of guy Study type you are.It sounds that you are the same type as me.You cant motivate yourself to study when the exam is too far away and you dont feel the pressure. When i had my exams last year september i started the real studying about 2-3 Weeks before the exams took place. It involved alot of overnight cramming but i did it!
From the 28 People in my class only 13 made it and many of them started to study months!!! before.

I cant motivate mysef without the proper pressure and even when i studied in advance i mostly forgot the learned stuff shortly after.

Maybe your the same?

Im now a full fledged Physical Therapist even tough it was LOADS of Anatomy,PHyisology and whatnot to learn.

About the proper learning enviroment:

The Pc and Internet are this time your WORST enemy.Lock your computer away and remove all things that could somehow catch your attention.Youll end up doing other things instead of learning. You mlost certainly dont want to wate your time!
If you cant make it without the net think about something like a reward system. 5 Pages properly learned egaul 15 minutes of internet. Or the like

The Future:
I know your problem too well. What helped me really out was a test from the geva institue (http://www.geva-institut.de/berufsstart/archiv/2004/10542.htm)
It analyses your strengts and weaknesses and even gives you some Job Hints based on how good you did in certain areas and your wishes

Sorry if did didnt make ssense. IOts alreay LAaaate

Hope it helped

Maybe thinking about what's important is not a very good idea atm, because there wouldn't be much RL based stuff involved.
I definitly have to do something about this situation, cause in real live there appears no Misaki-chan who saves you...

*thx, I'll check it out*

I have the exact same feeling about two years' back. Normally, I would stray away from all the entertainment stuff.

But I guess the priority lies with you looking back and thinking what is important to you and what is not.

*btw, replied to your comment on my blog already!*

Motivate myself. . .

By restricting myself to do something i like.

E.g: put the game somewhere which is hard to reach, etc

And.. listen to songs while studying.. it helps me a lot..

Feel free to ask for more recommendations..
