Kanu und Ryomou outdoor photo session

The weather became finally better yesterday (quite sunny and temperature ~28°C) so I grabbed Ryomou and Kanu for an outdoor photo session that I planned to do since Monday.
The photos turned out better than I thought since I had to use my old camera because my “new” Olympus was used elsewhere yesterday.

So let’s start with Kanu:

  • Name: Kanu Uncho
  • Version: White Gothic Lolita Ver.
  • Series: Ikki Tousen
  • Manufacturer: Goodsmile (Wani Books, UART)
  • Sculptor: Yasuhiro Uchijima
  • Material: PVC
  • Scale: 1/7 (240 mm)
  • Released: August 2007
  • Cast off: Yes
  • Price: 4,762 Yen (purchased @ HLJ)

I just realized that I forgot to take cast off pictures… sry^^

Photo model No. 2: Ryomou:

  • Name: Ryomou Shimei
  • Version: Cerberus Project pearl black ver.
  • Series: Ikki Tousen
  • Manufacturer: Goodsmile (Wani Books, UART)
  • Sculptor: French Doll
  • Material: PVC
  • Scale: 1/7 (280 mm)
  • Released: April 2008
  • Cast off: no
  • Price: 7,429 Yen (purchased @ HLJ)

Conclusion:

I’m very satisfied with those two. Kanu’s pose is really cool. It looks like she knees somewhere in the open, wind blowing trough her hair, and she is ready for her next fight. The quality is very good and I couldn’t find a single failure. And her GL-dress… omg

Ryomou’s pose fits her very well and her short skirt caused several *nosebleeds* last week.

But Ryomou’s paint job is not perfect. There are small scratches and a dab of non-glossy black paint on her skirt. The upper end of her stockings and the crossed parts of her uniform at her back are a little bit sloppily painted. (The failures are not that big and you can see them only when you are very near to her…hehehe…xD)

Although Ryomou is my favorite Ikki Tousen character forever:

Kanu wins this time, cause the quality is better (even though Kanu was cheaper).

In Austria is nice weather? You lucky guys!
Its raining since last week over here…

Like I mentioned before i ordered back then the limited version of Kanu and it seems that besides the color theme the base is also different. My 3 Limted Edition Ikki Tousen Figures all came with a Mirror Base for easy Pantsu Shots^^
Out of the 3 Kanu is the only one with a black one :D

Ive heard quite alot about the shabby paintwork of Ryomou and mine is perfectly fine. She had some smudges but they could be wiped away easily. The only Problem i had with her was that the Pegs didnt want to fit into the base.

That was last week; This week 11°C and rain, rain and more rain. I don’t like the Limited Edition, to me Kanu with pink-coloured hair looks ..wrong, sry ;)

Rymou’s paintwork is not that bad, but as I mentioned compared to Kanu it is not perfect.
And I heard about your Problem with Ryomou on the tsuki-board. My Ryomou fits into the base, but she is not very stable. >_<

Have you heard if someones Ryomou is leaning?; ’cause I think her pose is …dangerous^^

I LIVE IN FEAR OF LEANING FIGURES SINCE LAST WEEK xD

After some Gentle Pressure the Pegs slipped into the holes but like you wrote shes standing very unstable.
I havent heard of any leaning Ryomous so far.Ive Asked some members of the tsuki-board and their figures are still fine..

The Matching Hakufu is supposed to be a leaner but i havent noticed anything so far. Fools Luck!^^

Its not like i prefered the Limited Editions…When i ordered mine the regular Editions were out of stock.I actually prefer the white color theme of your Kanu.

    Leaning Figures = EVIL

    Good luck with Hafuku ^^

I checked out hlj, and now she is sold out there, maybe I’ve got one of the last ones..hehehe

btw: What do you think of my outdoor photoshot?(Yeah I know the quality is not so good, but I had to bear with this *censored* old 3MP camera) criticism allowed !

I like your Outdoorphotoshoot so far!
I especially like the Kanu Picture where you photographed the sun.

One of the advantages of outdoorphotoshoots is that you have the option of different beautiful settings while you have to stick to Colored Paper when youre doing indoorshots…The sunlight makes the color also alot more vibrant.
Im no expert in photography but i think sometimes the Lights a bit too bright(P1010062.jpg) or the shadows too dark(P1010021.jpg)

You can use a simple piece of paper as a reflector to lighten up the shadows.

Youre Ryomou Shot turned out quite well.An indoor shooting is quite hard with her because of the reflections from the glossy color.Im going to upload my Pics tomorrow then youll see what im talking about.

All in all youre on the right way

thx, I’m glad you like them.
With natural light it’s a little bit easier to get good photos but even so you can make mistakes. But I’m quiet satisfied with my first real try.
